WACO, Texas – Hunter Reid of Texas A&M University-Texarkana earned recognition as the RRAC Baseball Player of the Week for March 11-17, while Isaac Rohde of LSU Shreveport (La.) was selected as the RRAC Pitcher of the Week for the same dates. This is the eighth set of weekly winners for the 2024 RRAC baseball season.
Reid went 8-for-12 at the plate in a 3-1 week for the Eagles. The senior infielder from Plano, Texas, homered twice and drove in eight runs for the week. Reid delivered three extra base hits in a four-RBI performance as TAMUT defeated Our Lady of the Lake University (Texas), 7-4, on Sunday. He also walked twice and scored four runs last week. Reid leads the RRAC with a .430 batting average, and he is tied for fourth in RBI with 29. The Eagles improved to 9-5 in conference play and 12-13 on the season.
Rohde went eight innings for a two-hit, complete game shutout as the Pilots dropped Xavier University (La.), 2-0. The junior lefty from Rice Lake, Wis., struck out 11 hitters and walked none. Rohde is the conference leader in wins (tied with teammate Draven Zeigler with 6) and strikeouts (62), while posting the second-best ERA (2.01). Third-ranked LSUS jumped to 13-1 in the RRAC and 21-2 overall.
