Oklahoma City – Vanessa Perez of Oklahoma City and Chioma Obi of Texas Wesleyan earned this week’s Sooner Athletic Conference Oklahoma Ford Dealers Women’s Track and Field Athletes of the Week for their efforts during the period ending March 31, 2024, as announced by the conference office Tuesday morning.
Perez earned third place in the 400-meter dash at the OBU Invitational with a time of 59.60 this past weekend. Perez paced two other Star runners in the event as all three claimed top 10 finishes in the 400-meter against runners from NCAA Division II, NAIA, and junior college schools.

Obi claimed her second consecutive weekly award by finishing second overall in the heptathlon at the OBU Invitational with a new school record and personal best score of 3672 points. Obi currently is ranked No. 14 in the NAIA and the score from the weekend is the top mark in the SAC.
