McPherson, Kan. – Central Christian College Athletics Director, Kyle Moody is pleased to announce the hiring of Joey Pavlovich as the new Head Baseball Coach.
Before his coaching career, Pavlovich received his Bachelor's degree in mathematics from East Central University. He later completed a Master's degree in Education from Iowa State University and is in the process of completing a second degree in mathematics.
Pavlovich started his collegiate coaching career as the Head Coach at Iowa Lakes Community College where he served there for five years. During his tenure there, the program assisted 13 players on to Division 1 schools. Following Iowa Lakes, "Coach Pav" served as the pitching coach at Bryan College, and most recently, he has been the Lead Assistant Coach at the University of Science and Arts Oklahoma (USAO).
With eleven years of coaching experience, including Conference and National appearances, as well several accolades associated with player development and management, Pavlovich is excited to help further share the Baseball Program at CCCK.
"I am so thankful to Dr. Favara and Coach Moody for the opportunity to lead the program here at Central Christian. I am excited to elevate this program and use what I have learned to lead this group of young men on the baseball field and in their journey of faith," said Pavlovich. "My wife and I are so excited to grow with our family in McPherson and have the type of community Central Christian offers."
Coach Pavlovich will also be serving as an adjunct in the Natural Science Department, instructing mathematics, having taught college-level mathematics during his last two appointments. While he will officially begin his duties after the conclusion of his current season with USAO, he was able to spend a little time on campus this week, becoming acquainted with the players and staff here at Central.
Athletic Director Moody commented, "We're excited to bring Coach Pavlovich on to the staff. He comes from a strong coaching tree and knows the league well. His experience, eagerness, and faith perspective promise to further influence and shape the future of Tiger Baseball."
