Oklahoma City – Ashlei McDonald and Anshika Routray of Texas Wesleyan earned this week’s Sooner Athletic Conference Oklahoma Ford Dealers Women’s Track and Field Athletes of the Week for their efforts during the period ending March 17, 2024, as announced by the conference office Tuesday morning.
McDonald set a new personal best and SAC leading mark of 18:09.90 in the women’s 5000-meter run at the TCU Alumni Invitational. She placed 6th overall behind 5 NCAA Division 1 athletes from TCU and the University of Oklahoma.
Other Nominees - Kaylee Lujan, Panhandle State
Routray set a new personal best and school record of 12.16m (39’ 10.75”), finishing 5th overall out of 15 competitors at the Bill Schmidt Classic, and is leading the SAC in the women’s shot put thus far this spring.
