Oklahoma City – The Sooner Athletic Conference is proud to announce that Stu Dunn of Southwestern Assemblies of God has been named the 2023-24 Athletic Trainer of the Year as voted on by his peers in the conference.
Winners of each conference Athletic Trainer of the Year are sent to the NAIA Awards Committee for consideration for the national Athletic Trainer of the Year honor which will be announced in September on NAIA National Awards Day.
In his 11th year at SAGU, Dunn has served as the Director of Sports Medicine and has seen his marked by servant leadership, professionalism, and unwavering dedication to the student-athletes at SAGU. Dunn’s commitment to the Lion’s athletic department and his approach to sports medicine have earned the respect of the administrators and coaches at SAGU.
"The various ways that Stuart impacts our campus are inestimable,” stated SAGU Athletic Director Jesse Godding. “He leads his area with diligence and professionalism. His contributions to the remainder of the campus and his willingness to serve the SAGU community are commendable. He is deserving of this award, and I congratulate him for this recognition."
